Job Description

The Corn Cook oversees the preparation of corn by loading tanks, igniting gas lines, combining ingredients, mixing during cooking, and regulating temperature to ensure optimal results.

Responsibilities

  • Filling tanks with bagged corn or from the silo
  • Lighting gas lines using a propane torch
  • Adding water and lime to the tanks
  • Stirring the tanks using a hand paddle to mix the corn throughout the cooking process
  • Monitoring temperature using a thermometer and adjusting the flame as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed.
